The weather was not looking good at the start of Sunday morning, but as the day went on things started improving, late afternoon was full of promise. A group of Club members assembled on the beach at Bracklesham and did their best to work a spot of voodoo magic on the cloud cover. Considering the earlier conditions, it was a great evening except the sun was hiding behind the clouds. The Sunday strollers certainly felt it was worth coming out. There was a couple of groups swimming, people on paddle boards, and for members a great opportunity to socialize and chew the fat. The more technical minded had the app and were predicting where the sun would go down over the horizon. The rest of us took heart from seeing the clouds thinning at this point and spirits were high. Two horses and riders went past along the beach and there was the prospect of some great shots when they came back, hopefully at the gallop.
But then time was against us. The cloud cover was not moving and only minutes were left until the sun set, members reluctantly started packing away their gear. Then suddenly, almost as members were turning to walk away, a break in the cloud appeared. It was small but sufficient to reveal the evening sun in all its glory. We got our sunset and a great autumn evening. What more could you ask for.
