Photo Resizing
These are instructions for Photoshop, but most programmes use a similar method. Some programmes will overwrite the original image using this method, so be sure to save a copy first!
-
Select the image you want to resize, then go to the main menu bar and select Image › Image Size to open the Image Size dialog box.
-
In the Fit To drop-down menu, use the Width and Height numbers to resize to 1600 x 1200 pixels.
-
The chain link icon next to Width and Height constrain its proportions — whatever adjustments happen to the width correspond in the image’s height. If your image is a different ratio, change just one of the measurements to keep the proportion.
-
Click OK to apply the changes to your image.
-
In some programmes you can change the image size through the 'Export' menu, and you will be able to make the changes and save the image under a new name.
Triptych
A triptych is a selection of three complementary photographs, laid out together. They can complement each other by theme, or be a sequence of shots telling a story. Usually, we run the tryptych competition alongside our AGM meeting, and the winners are voted for by our members.
